Just an update

Thank you for keeping up with us through our online presence! We hope you have enjoyed our wedding website throughout the past year! We will continue to utilize our wedding website through mid-December, and look forward to posting pictures and pages to share our lives as newlyweds!

So far we are absolutely LOVING married life! It's so fun to introduce eachother as "my husband" or "my wife"!! We have a few weeks until school starts and Jordyn has already experienced the vast majority of people who struggle pronouncing Bibiloni. (Bee-Bee-Lon-E) She taught three summer classes at our local elementary school and the kids are convinced Bibiloni is the same as "Balogne". She will have to deal with that, I guess. Ha Ha Ha. But we are both excited to hear calls over the loud-speaker at school "Will MR/MRS Bibiloni please...." Yeah, we are giddy! We're newlyweds...so we can get away with it... for now ;-)

As for life as newlyweds, evolution is occurring! Jordyn will be taking 2 graduate classes this fall and continuing to teach private softball lessons with her aspiring pitchers. David will be heading up some major technology opportunities for students and staff in our middle school. We are both excited for the new school year, but are appreciative for the late mornings and even later nights while still on vacation.

This fall will also provide change in our area of living. We will be moving slightly over a mile from our current place into an apartment in Richmond Commons, above Richmond Square, a new retail development consisting of restaurants, shopping and entertainment. It has been exciting seeing the commons develop from a farm field to a mini town... imagine that - building an entire town! Well it is a really neat place with restaurants, a spa, dry cleaners, gas station, and other retail shops with luxury apartments above these shops. It will be a new and exciting adventure, so we are preparing for our late September move, now.

Thanks To Those Who Made It To Spain!

Our major event of the summer entailed planning and sharing a week-long vacation with friends from the USA prior to our wedding. It was magnificent! We shared a villa with 13 other friends and family members and 6 other guests shared a hotel on the beach nearby. We all shared the island, sight seeing, eating, swimming and creating many memories.

We flew our photographer and her husband, Jen and David, from Chicago to Spain to joing us. If you recall, David surprised me (Jordyn- duh) with a surprise trip to Chicago in December 2007 for his proposal and he had connected with Jen to capture the event. She did such a fabulous job, we HAD to bring her to capture our wedding!

Chad and Jessi, originally David's friends from college, who have now adopted me (Jordyn) helped us plan the trip. They not only shared a week in Mallorca with us, but we tug along to travel the Spanish penninsula with them the week after the wedding. What a marvelous honeymoon!

Jenise, not only a close friend, but the host of Jordyn's Lancaster bridal shower, joined us for our week-long adventure. She has 4 children who we love and she is our inspiration for building our own family.

Dave and Ashley, also friends of David's from college joined us at the villa and were always armed with hilarious comments and great conversation.

Mom and Dad Acklin (John and Jeanne) and brother, Jarrett all supported our wedding by making the travels to Mallorca along with cousin, Tim from Ohio. He, likely, had the longest trip to travel but it was 100% worth it, for the fun and memories will last forever!

Mike and Dawn where there the first moment we began talking about getting married and have stayed friends ever since. We met through our church, LCBC, and look forward to many years of memories together.

Sam and Phil, Abbey and Emily are all friends who came for half the week, and it was so wonderful to share these few days with them! Sam and Phil are friends from LCBC and networked in other ways as well, and Abbey used to live above Jordyn in her first apartment. Emily is Abbey's sister, and we've adopted her into our little group of friends!

Holly, one of our co-workers at school and Denny, joined us for the week in Spain from the USA. They were a treat to have and even let us use their car for the wedding. What fun we had with these two wild ones! :-)

Thanks for everyone who has been following the "Bibiloni Project" over the course of the past year, months, and all who continue to check our updates daily. We love you so much and are in a catch-22 as they say. We are preparing our last days in Spain and are so sad because we miss our Spain familia dearly over the course of the year.. yet, we are looking forward to sharing photos, stories, and just seeing all our family and friends in the USA. So we live each moment for all its worth, and are writing to let you know there are many photos online for you to see until we return. We fly back to the USA on Wednesday, July 15th, but allow us a few days because Jet-Lag can get all of us down a bit. We will be uploading our personal photos as we return.

Our amazing wedding photographer has posted many photos from the wedding on the following site, and if you take the time to watch the slideshow, you will see even more. She is continuing to add more, so don't think they are all up yet... :-)

Honeymooning

Well it is our first day back to Biniali and it’s actually a relief! It’s like we’ve been on vacation - during vacation. Of course the week you came was wonderful, but not really relaxing, though it had it’s moments. Then waking up and re-packing for our “honeymoon”, or as David has named it, our impromp-trek, was another blur. We definitely had a wonderful trip with Chad and Jessi. We started in Barcelona, jeeze, David’s plane ticket was ½ the price of mine because he is a Spanish citizen (we’re getting RIGHT on my paperwork for this very reason!) Ha Ha Ha… but hey, it wasn’t a bad price for the flight, cheaper than even the fast-ferry we had originally expected to take.


We spent two nights in Barcelona and I was ready to leave. Granted, we had dinner with Abbey and Emily on Saturday night, which was really fun, but I couldn’t help but spend most of my time in the city worrying if I was going to be pick-pocketed. Monday, at the Boqueria, a HUGE market, and yes, it surpasses even my beloved central market of Lancaster, was a sure treat as we said our goodbyes to Barcelona. Oh yah, and get this… Sunday we went touring for 12-hours, and as could be expected, David packed a fashionable, yet non-practical pair of sandals to wear. So after our walk, and many blisters, we needed to buy David a new pair of shoes if he was going to make it through Friday. Just outside of the shoe store in mid-conversation, David exploded and a family turned as hugs were passed all around. I had no idea what was happening… David and I had run into his parents friends and their children, who just HAPPENED to be in Barcelona that day, from Virginia (the wife is originally from Mallorca). We exchanged greetings and took this great photo...


Ok, so back to our story, Monday, after the Boqueria we rented a car, and with spectacular foresight, Jessi suggested a drop-top. We were off and driving up the coast like we were in a movie! Wind in our hair and the sea to our side, we were elated and had no set-in-stone plan, just a map and a desire to “see the land”. We decided to travel up the coast to Tossa de Mar. I look forward to showing you our route on a map soon, but again, until I have a real Internet connection, you’ll have to wait. At Tossa we secured a 4-star hotel for a fantastic price, and breakfast to boot. What a find!

So we awoke and left Tossa to continue up the coast, towards a recommendation from the receptionist at our hotel, a true diamond in the ruff; Roses was the name of the town and we stayed right on the coast and enjoyed the magnificent port, the breathtaking sunset, the quiet streets, and many shops. This time dinner, hotel stay and breakfast were included, we were starting to think each stop better than the last!


Wednesday was one of the most memorable, a day-trip to France! Each day was so filled, I know I am just tipping the iceberg, but to sum it up we dipped in the Mediterranean at a quiet beach, situated right off a route in this year’s Tour de France. Well you know David, this couldn’t have been more perfect! We packed a lunch of delectable “Capitan Mani” (Peanut Butter) and Crackers, but with the 35 degree Celsius heat, we splurged for a Banana Split to cool us off. Plus, when are we ever going to be in France again? Justified.





The remainder of our day was spent circling southwest through the beautiful mountains of France, where the temperature cut in half to a chilly 15 degrees Celsius! The snow-capped mountains made me pinch my skin, were we really at the beach, in the blistering sun just a few hours ago? Yes! Another unbelievable memory!



After dropping back into Spain, we decided to stop at a little town called Baga. It was a perfect fit for our little group! We were ready for a high-classed dinner, and this small, sleepy town included a family that served our dinner and lodging needs! You guessed it, another fabulous deal!! This meal was so spectacular I have to share it with you: Jessi and I started with a salad, while David and Chad began with squid risotto and mushrooms. The main dish was lamb and steak, served on a hot stone and we couldn’t help but finish off our meal with a brownie and ice cream. “Nio Nou” was the name of this family owned jackpot, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we return someday.

Thursday was our last day of our mainland excursion, so it was kind of a rush to get back towards the airport to find a place to stay, but we couldn’t resist stopping for a true Spanish lunch at Mont Serrat. As we approached this town we stared in awe at the magnificent mountains ahead of us. I remember questioning what the legends were about these mountains, as they could not go unnoticed. We discovered this is the place where the legendary Holy Grail was buried, from Arthurian times (or better know to me, from Monty Python and the Holy Grail… A true favorite movie!

After our delectable lunch we made our way to Sitges, a costal town where we have to admit, we couldn’t get out of!!! It was funny and a little frustrating all at the same time, and I have the video recording to prove it!!! Sitges was the most beautiful place I have seen and I would have loved to stay along these cliffs watching the surf hit the rock, walking down roads I’m surprised we survived driving along, taking photos of the white buildings of the town. The point that we couldn’t find our way out was nothing to be held lightly, and our frustration turned into thoughts of “what if we can’t find our way to the airport tomorrow from here,” so we drove a few more kilometers down the coast toward the airport to find our lodging for the night.

Our last night of our improp-trek was spent at Garaf, and would have been better had we not had to awake at the break of dawn to make it to the airport. Overall it was a fabulous trip. David and I really weren’t sure until a few hours before leaving whether or not we’d be joining Chad and Jessi for the excursion, that paired with a map and a mere idea of a plan, this certainly leads to our defined “imprompt-trek” across the mainland – and one of the greatest memories to hold and to keep!

Sorry this is the only way we are able to use free wifi at the mall to connect photos to a computer and upload them from Spain! Thank you for all your prayers and to all those who have come to celebrate with us at Pheasant Run and to those who joined us for our wedding in Spain. It has been a wonderful journey and we aren't done yet. Right now we are in a small hotel in Barcelona enjoying the mainland for a few days.
Friends Chad and Jessi are accompanying us on our little excursion and so far so fun! We hope to tour the city today and tomorrow and head up to coast toward France. More to come as husband and wife Bibiloni...
